Hello everyone!

As I travel with the Bergen Womens’ Choir Damekoret Toneveld to a Norwegian national choir convention June 3rd-4th, 2016, I have found some time to write another article for my artist page on Facebook and for Here is my latest music news.

I have been busy teaching lots of piano and some voice as a substitute teacher for the Osterøy Culture School on a weekly basis since early February and will continue until June 9th, when the culture school year finishes up for the summer. My temporary position as a piano teacher with the Bergen Culture School also wraps up next week with student concerts in both locations requiring much of my time. When I have not been conducting choirs, playing as a substitute/extra organist for the Osterøy Lutheran Parish, or practicing music for myself and the family, teaching has been where it is been for me. I am also nearing completion of the first book of folk music accompaniment project for the Bergen Culture School. I hope to be finished with this in the coming weeks. More details will come later regarding a release date for this project.

I will also travel to Calahonda, Spain with the Tysnes Chamber Choir for performances at the Norwegian Seaman’s Lutheran Church, located southwest of Malaga, along the Costa del sol from June 10-14.  I will have more information on this trip from the news section next week.

Plans for my summer trip back home to Canada have not changed since my last article in December 2015.  Planning from a distance continues with entertainment chairlady Susan Hansen in planning music performances for The Village of Canwood’s 100th anniversary, which will take place from July 29-July 31, 2016. Plans continue for a Parkland Fiddlers Reunion and other additional entertainment come this special weekend. More details will be announced on and my Facebook artist page as the dates get closer. For those wishing to attend these celebrations, please check for more information on the weekend celebrations.

I will be back in Saskatchewan during summer 2016 for performances with The Cleavers at the Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert on Monday, July 25th and James Steele at the Northern Lights Casino on Monday, August 8th. I am also reconfirmed as a house accompanist for both the John Arcand Fiddle Fest in Saskatoon from August 11th-14th and the Pembroke Fiddle and Step Dance Contest in Pembroke, Ontario on the Labour Day weekend of September 2nd-3rd, 2016. More details will come over the summer with these events.

In closing, I will have more news from Rukjan, Norway with the 2016 Norwegian National Choir Convention organized by the Norwegian Singers’ Association in the coming days for Facebook and Until then, see you somewhere down the musical trail!

Musically yours, Trent
