THE NEWS FROM BRUNER’S BROOD – DECEMBER 27, 2017 Print E-mail
Hello everyone!

We trust and hope again that everyone in your family is having a holiday season of rest, good food, visits, wishes fulfilled and a time of reflection on why the holidays hold deep meanings to many people. This update is released for Facebook and www.trentbruner,com.

It has been a while since I have been able to write a news update on my musical activities, but now that I have a quiet moment, I can summarize 2017 as a busy time with the following musical activities at various times throughout the year:

  • Working as an organist for the Norwegian Lutheran Church on the island of Osterøy, the Samnanger municipality and the City of Bergen and area in varying capacities throughout 2017.

  • Working as a substitute piano and voice teacher with the Bergen Culture School.

  • Notating a country music collection in sheet music format from Calgary country artist Jaye D Marie, with plans for music books in the near future.

  • Updating the fiddle music books of The Cleavers from the albums “Cleaver’s World” with piano parts, endings and reformatting of the music layouts from the book of original fiddle tunes, “The Cleaver’s World French Medley” and the book from ”La Ribambelle and The Cleavers – en spectacle ‘live’” for sale in PDF format.
  • Accompanying The Cleavers, Calvin Vollrath, Patti Kusturok, John Arcand and other fiddlers from Canada and the U.S. in concert, dance and contests throughout Canada in Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario this summer and both Patti Kusturok and the Bergen Junior Fiddlers (Bergen junior spelemannslag) in the Bergen area this fall.
  • Composing 32 country gospel songs of my own for publishing in two new music books titled “Life Lessons Volume 1” and “Life Lessons Volume 2” both in print and PDF format for church and personal use.

  • Composing and assembling 55 original fiddle tunes I composed either by myself or with others in a book both in hard copy and PDF format entitled “Some of Mine, Some of Ours – Volume 1.”
  • Conducting the Bergen Women’s choir “Damekoret Toneveld” and the Tysnes Chamber Choir (Tysnes Kammerkor), along with working on occasion as a substitute choir conductor and piano accompanist for the Alvidt-Mangler Community Singers and the Unneland Community Choir (Unnelandskoret).

The short story is that 2017 has been a busy year, but also a year where I was able to make a positive difference for many people throughout this year. To know I was asked my many to lend my talents to help others in varying ways is encouraging, heart warming and rewarding. Thank you to everyone who asked and allowed me to assist and come forward to either share the stage, teach a pupil or help in The Lord's service.

As a reminder to all, each of the new products that I have released this year are available in my webshop along with earlier releases and teaching resources available for sale as well for those who are interested.

In closing, on behalf of my wife Hilde and our entire family: Silje, Hogne, Hannah Moira and Ingrid Sofie, we trust that wherever you are in the world, that you have had or will have a happy holiday season and our hope and wish for you in 2018 is for a year of peace, joy and happiness both inside and outside the musical field. Until next time, see you somewhere down the musical trail!

Musically yours, Trent
