Dual Impressions is a musical duo from the Norwegian island of Osterøy
that features vocalist Amalie Torp and pianist Trent Bruner.
Amalie and Trent met for the first time in May 2011 when judging a local
talent contest in Valestrand, Norway. In September 2011, they, along with
fiddler/violinist Silje Midtbø Vevle, arranged one of Amalie’s original
songs, “Ikke gråt” (Don’t Cry) for a memorial concert for Norwegian
youth who lost their lives on the island of Utøya July 22, 2011. Later
that fall, “Ikke gråt” was recorded in Bergen with recording engineer
Magnus Skylstad.
On November 28, 2012, Amalie was a guest
vocalist for a concert honouring the 200th anniversary of the birth of
Norwegian composer, educator, archivist, arranger and organist Ludvig
Mattias Lindeman. Trent served as the organist/pianist for this concert
at Gjerstad Lutheran Church on the island of Osterøy.
On December 28, 2014, Trent
accompanied Amalie on piano at an outdoor winter concert in Valestrand,
Norway, with another of her original songs “Under stjerenene” (Under the
Stars) being debuted that evening. In January 2015, Trent and Amalie
formed this duo act shortly after this December 2014 concert and have released one Norwegian single, "Under stjerenene" in April 2015 with TomtomStudio in Bergen with engineer/producer Thomas Haugeland. Since releasing "Under stjernene," this duo has been entertaining for various events in the Bergen area both as a duo and with band.
