Ambos Album Cover.jpg

The duo "Ambos" consists of Silje Midtbø Vevle (b. 1988) and her brother, Hogne Midtbø Vevle (b. 1993). They come from the island of Osterøy, north of Bergen, Norway. They both started playing hardanger fiddle at age five, studying with Norwegian hardanger fiddle instructors Jon Jelmert and Håkon Høgemo (two time Norwegian national hardanger fiddle champion). Both have competed at various Norwegian fiddle contests for hardanger fiddle and are members of their local fiddle and dance group, Osterøy Spel- og Dansarlag. They have appeared on the troupe's two album releases: Spikjespel (2003) and Fela Liv (2012). On this album, this duo presents a mixture of Canadian folk music, Norwegian folk music and original fiddle tunes.
